Send to Aims — Extension Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

This policy explains what the Send to Aims browser extension (the "Extension") accesses, what it sends, and what it does not do. It supplements the main Aims Privacy Policy. By installing and using the Extension you agree to this policy.

1. What the Extension does

The Extension lets you save an image or video you find while browsing to your Aims account. When you choose “Send to Aims” on a piece of media (via the right-click menu or the Alt+Shift+C shortcut), it sends that media to your Aims library so you can recreate it with the Aims tools. That is its single purpose.

2. Information the Extension handles

  • Media you explicitly choose to save. When you trigger “Send to Aims”, the Extension sends the URL of the selected image/video, and the address and title of the page it came from, to your Aims account. Nothing is sent unless you take that action.
  • Your connection credential. A connect code (or the token created when you choose “Log in with Aims”) is stored locally in your browser so the Extension can send media to your account. It is stored using the browser’s extension storage and is not shared with anyone other than Aims.

3. What the Extension does NOT do

  • It does not read, collect, or transmit your browsing history.
  • It does not track the pages you visit or run analytics on your activity.
  • It does not read page content, passwords, form data, or cookies.
  • It does not sell or share your data with third parties, or use it for advertising.
  • It only ever transmits data when you explicitly send a piece of media.

4. Why the Extension needs each permission

  • Context menus — to add the “Send to Aims” item to the right-click menu.
  • Storage — to remember your connection credential and your chosen server URL.
  • Identity — to run the “Log in with Aims” sign-in flow.
  • Access to web pages — so it can find the media under your cursor on whatever site you are on when you choose to save something. It does this only at the moment you act, and only to read the media’s address.

5. How the data is used and stored

Media you send is delivered to Aims and stored in your account’s library, where it is handled under the main Aims Privacy Policy. Your connection credential lives only in your browser; you can disconnect at any time by removing it in the Extension popup, by revoking it under Settings → Clip to Aims, or by uninstalling the Extension.

6. Data sharing

The Extension communicates only with Aims (useaims.com). It does not send your data to any other third party.
